Help Us Save the Snow Angels from the Bitter Winter
December rolled in with a vengeance this year. Bitter cold in the air, and our rescue scrambling to help a whole new colony of mostly friendly kittens and cats — our Snow Angels — many suffering and at high risk of losing their lives in these freezing temperatures. For the past ten days as so many have been gearing up for, or celebrating the holidays, we’ve been out there — every single day, every single night — strategizing, trapping, feeding, gaining trust, planning. Trying to save precious lives.
There are so many. We’re estimating 40 or more. We’ve already trapped and brought 16 into foster. Sadly only 15 remain in foster, one didn’t make it. His body was just too weak to fight, he was fragile, and exposed for too long. Each day going forward we’ll continue to be out there, doing our best under circumstances that are far from ideal — a property that is difficult to navigate, kittens that are small and scared with ample hiding spaces, and an unforgiving winter. But we’ll do it until the job is done, because each of these sweet kittens and cats deserve a chance at life.
We need your help. Under normal circumstances, each healthy animal costs approximately $200 to care for medically. And we’re looking at potentially 40 or more cats. On top of that, our Snow Angels have already needed a few ER visits, so the costs are already beginning to pile up. We need help. We know it’s hard this time of year, but the truth is, for these amazing kittens, time is of the essence. Our ability to fund their care can make all the difference. Please donate whatever you can.
