Help Save Our Broken Pelvis, Unable to Walk, Super Bowl Sunday Cat!
UPDATE 2/8/18: Wentz is still not feeling well, which is making him very resistant to the pain meds he needs to get better. Due to his pain, its still very hard to determine his temperament. Unfortunately, because he’s not feeling well, he’s still not eating well. He’s at the vet right now for a pain injection and reassessment. His vet currently believes he may require long term management. Please continue to help us help Wentz.
Today in the icy cold, we were contacted about a cat who was possibly hit by a car. Found hiding in a basement in deplorable conditions, of course we agreed to help, and today he was rushed to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital for Emergency help. His name is Wentz.
This poor boy cannot walk, and we just found out after x-rays, that he does indeed have a broken pelvis. For now he’s on pain medication, needs lots of cage rest, and then a recheck in 6 weeks.
We don’t yet know the cost to care for this innocent kitty who was left to die, but we know it’s not going to be cheap. In addition to emergency meds and procedures and the care of his injuries, he’ll also need full vetting, including neuter and vaccines.
Warm and fed tonight, instead of dying in the cold. Because several awesome people stepped up and came together to make this all happen for him today, both online and off. Special thanks to Lucy Noland for paying the exam fee for today’s emergency visit! We aren’t sure yet if he’s friendly, but time will tell as he’s in such pain that he cannot be assessed.
This innocent being deserves a chance at an amazing life, and we’ll give it to him with your help. We desperately need donations to help with Wentz’s medical care. Every dollar adds up and goes a long way, and so does every share on social media. Thank you for your continued support, and for helping us save this precious life.
100% of the donations you make to support this cat go to Randall’s Rescue, a 501(c)3 organization who has taken on the care of this cat.
